For more than a half a century, GRANIT has built many hydro technical structures of all kinds in Macedonia: concrete dams, embankments for river control, irrigation systems and water supply systems. The company is proud of its continuous contribution in the building and development of the national electric power system. Some of the more notable projects are: the Kozjak hydro power plant with capacity of 100 MWh, the double-arched concrete dam in Sveta Petka, not far from the Capital of Macedonia which has a generation capacity of an additional 27,66 MWh, enough to satisfy the capital`s residential electricity needs and part of the capital`s industrial requirements. The Knezevo earth-rock dam with its 1.7 mil/m3 of embankments contributes an additional 22.5 mil/ m3 useful water accumulation to the hydro system at Zletovica. GD Granit AD Skopje is also a producer of electricity by a co-founding and its 50% ownership share of “Small Hydro Power Plants” a private company that owns 7 small hydro power plants that participate in the electricity supply of the Republic of Macedonia,.
